Advanced Safety System Calibration

Does your vehicle have an advanced driver assistance safety system (ADAS)? If so, you know that these systems can help you in a variety of ways while driving, like warning you of possible collisions. Examples of ADAS applications include:

  • Blind spot detection

  • Lane departure warning

  • Auto emergency braking

  • Traffic sign recognition

It’s great that these systems keep you safe on the road, but if your windshield is replaced, it’ll require windshield camera recalibration. Your camera must be working correctly in order for these systems to be effective and keep your vehicle safe. The professionals at Discount Auto Glass are proud to be one of a handful of providers in the area who can perform this service!

We perform two types of windshield camera recalibration:

  • Static Recalibration: We mount an image marker on the front of your vehicle without driving it, and calibrate the cameras based on the marker’s location. This usually takes around an hour.

  • Dynamic Recalibration: We plug a unit into your automobile and take it for a drive at a specific speed on certain roads. We calibrate the cameras to road markers, and your system becomes familiar with the road and ready to respond to possible threats.

Our team is here to help you, no matter what your vehicle’s make and model is. As more and more vehicles continue to utilize advanced driver assistance safety systems, you can rest assured knowing that your car is in good hands.
